Course: Fire Ground Command / Decision Making at Structural Fires – (Strategy and Tactics)
Must first develop an overall Strategy and Tactics for each of the following: (1) Locate and remove endangered occupants (2) Treat the Injured. (3) Stop the forward progress of fire. (4) Ensure property conservation. 5) Provide exposure protection. After reviewing several videos, each group leader will be requested to develop an overall review and discuss unsafe “Strategy and Tactics” regarding all the above scenarios. (Encouraging on site Team Work and Cooperation)

Course: Highway Safety and Courage to be Safe:                                                                                                                                                                                       Sunday AM – One of the Most Dangerous Places – (Highway Safety). You are more likely to suffer a career ending fire service injury or death than fighting a building fire!  This program will discuss the hazards associated with moving traffic, terrain, topography, weather, drivers who are under the influence and even the distracted driver.  Review policies and procedures on temporary lane closures, traffic aides and equipment, and how to be more visible in traffic. We will have a strong focus on apparatus positioning and providing a safe space for emergency responders to work within the shadow of a block. 

Sunday PM – Do You Have (The Courage to Be Safe)? This class will review research, statistics and case studies of real-world events that changed the lives of firefighters and the organization they were members of.  We will look at the 16 life safety initiatives created by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to reduce firefighter injuries and line of duty deaths.  Content includes a focus on having the courage to speak up, empowering the individual for greater situational awareness, the ability to have a voice to report unsafe situations, providing medical screening and evaluations, safe fire-ground operations, increasing good quality fire department training and organizational culture.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Instructor: Billy Greenwood

Course: Engine Company Operations:
The engine company is the basic operational unit of every fire department and provides the primary extinguishing agent, water, and personnel; and delivers it to the fire. To supply and make use of water properly the firefighter must have considerable knowledge and skills.
This course will include: the basic mission of engine companies, engine company operations, strategies and tactics for engine companies, size up and smoke signals, and operational pointers for engine companies.
Practical & skills sessions will include: hose loads and deployment, hose advancement and nozzle skills, engine company hose team skills and practice.
Instructor: Green Mountain Associates
Training Prerequisites: *Practical sessions require physical exercise and only firefighters physically capable of demanding physical effort should participate.
Equipment: PPE is required
