We do skills and drills for RIT. But has your department prepared their command officers on how to handle a Mayday?  This class will review statistics, types of situations that cause firefighters to be in distress. Policy and procedures on how to perform progressive RIT operations before the Mayday.  We will also introduce how to build out your incident command team to be better prepared for the impending chaos. All attendees will get our Managing the Mayday tactical checklist and Radio Operations protocol. Your firefighters and their families deserve incident commanders who are well prepared to function under serious duress.

Saturday PM – (The Leadership Trap – Conflict Resolution) – Most leadership training is focused on managing people and tangible things. But the fire service is all about the people business. We in general provide service and support to our communities. As numbers reduce, we simply can’t meet those demands without engaged and motivated people. Regardless if you are paid, paid on call or are working as in a volunteer status, successful leaders must understand and be comfortable with dealing with negativity. Come learn about cognitive dissonance and how we must be able to read, map and positively engage people on a whole new level!
